Leading the Multiplayer Engine organisation, a group of twenty eight engineers and three engineering managers as direct reports.

  • Implement and optimise Agile processes and align teams. 

  • Plan and drive an engineering Jira Plan roadmap.

  • Worked with QA to establish Test Plans for upcoming feature development resulting in increased overall test coverage by 55%, ensuring critical functionality coverage reached 90%, leading to a ~33% reduction in post-release incidents since February 2024.

  • Leverage Root Cause Analysis and Bisection methods to improve regression metrics. Regressions escaped to users improved by 73% since February 2024.

  • The number of total regressions was reduced by 94.29%.

  • Implement Bug quality KPIs. Resulting in a 100% reduction in high-severity defects over six months.

  • Raise the bar with quality standards throughout the team's software cycle and release processes. Incidents in triage for ten days or more reduced by 100% over 12 months.

  • Reduced total backlog by 60% to a more manageable size.

  • Proactively monitor and mitigate risks, capacity, and resource needs in alignment with objectives.

  • Direct teams to be collaborative by default with shared initiatives. Improved morale by celebrating wins and recognising great work.

  • Experienced handling ambiguity, shifting priorities, organisational challenges, and capacity restrictions.

  • Planned and delivered the Multiplayer Engine and Services end-to-end solution release for the Unity 6 engine version released in October 2024.

Established the Netcode Engine Team for Unity, combining two separate teams and setting a new direction.

  • Overcame organisation challenge by combining two separate teams and setting a new technical direction.

  • Defined and set up a new twelve month engineering roadmap.

  • Analysed technical debt and moved the team into a more prudent mindset, unburdening the team.

  • Implemented collaboration methods to drive teamwork and peer reviews. 

  • Implement agile methodologies to improve team velocity and predictability.

  • Released multiple patches and minor updates to Netcode software packages, including feature improvements, countless bug fixes and documentation improvements.

  • Found and led the team that developed Boss Room, a multiplayer game sample educating tens of thousands of developers on creating multiplayer games across platforms.

  • Establish Unity's first open-source 'docs-like-code' SDK documentation, setting a new standard for Unity’s user-centered documentation.

Led a team that successfully onboarded hundreds of gaming studios to Unity, driving tens of millions in annual recurring revenue.

  • Define KPIs and metrics to maximise impact with customer interactions.

  • Create new revenue streams by collaborating with Legal, achieve a read-only Source Code engine license, and help address customer pain points. Resulting in a multi-million dollar revenue stream.

  • Establish strong relationships with key clients (e.g., King, Supercell, Ubisoft) at the CTO/Technical Director level.

  • Implement the Solution Selling philosophy across Unity's Sales organisation, transforming customer engagement approaches and resulting in improved customer relations.

  • Review and ensure accuracy in business service agreements and legal contracts, leading to a measurable increase in deal velocity and customer satisfaction.
