Am I A Toxic Leader?

I am a somewhat toxic leader and not proud of it. But why am I telling you this? We have to start telling the hard truth.
That is because I recently came across a diagnostic tool that helps you diagnose your leadership toxicity traits.
Being a leader is not just about directing teams and achieving results; it’s about creating environments where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work.
How often do you stop to reflect on yourself, particularly on how your leadership style impacts those around you?
I wrote this post because Ian Hallett shares an insightful diagnostic tool. You can copy and use it for yourself and to share it with your colleagues. This insightful resource encourages a deep reflection on leadership behaviour.
I have since published a custom Chat-GPT titled Am I A Toxic Leader: Diagnostic Tool
It is a rather brutal self-reflection; the questions are hard, and you will have feelings of not wanting to answer honestly, but you should do as best you can, so you highlight your traits of toxicity and reflect on an approach forward to course correct.
Spoiler alert: 99% of leaders demonstrate some level of toxicity. What separates leaders is those who are open-minded enough to acknowledge and want to do something about it.
It is not to be used as a performance measurement tool or a method to criticise someone, use it for your personal growth or as an exercise within your team.
Let me know how you get on using the custom Chat-GPT.
